Sorry for my absence on the blog...We were in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to say goodbye to Blake's Grandpa Drexel Ivie. He was Jodie's father. Pictured above is 6 of his grandchildren as pallbearers and his son, Rick Ivie. It was a small service, with only family members attending, and we all let balloons go with messages to Grandpa. It was beautiful. Grandpa led a full life and was so loved by all. We will miss his smile, his sweet ways, and his generosity. Goodbye Grandpa...

Hey Jules and Blake, so sorry to hear of losing your grandpa. Even though he had a full 87 years here, saying goodbye is still so hard. Love you.
Hey Paines, I am so sorry about your Grandpa...I have lost 2 Grandpa's that I loved dearly and I can feel you pain...know that we are here if you need anything...even if its just a shoulder to cry on !!!
Thank you for sharing these photos and letting is grieve with you. We're here for each other's laughter and pain.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, Blake and Julie. May the Lord hold you and Jodie too during this time of grieving?
Love ya! ~Lis

Thanks for the love, guys. I have passed on your kind words to Blake and Jodie. We are doing fine...I think Jodie is down and it will take her awhile to process his loss. He always made her feel so special, used to call her his princess. I knew him to be so generous. We wouldn't have had much of a honeymoon without his gift to us...and that first Christmas together was made extra special (more like entirly possible)when he sent us a check because he "didn't get out to shop much." The one thing that everyone said at his memorial service was that they never saw him get angry....my kids couldn't say THAT about me! What an amazing person he was. I wish I knew him better.
