My evening of bliss!

All right! I did it! I pressed the dress, made up my face, donned my earrings I wore on my wedding day, and I drove (via the minivan) to Blake's work to meet him for dinner. He was shocked and impressed and I think I managed to dazzle him a bit! Ha!

We went to a very beautiful restaurant at the Edgewater Hotel on pier 67. It was a white linen tablecloth type of place with $30-$50 meals. A la Carte. What can I say but....We had a coupon!

I felt like Cinderella. I felt more poised and wonderful than even on my wedding day. I know who I am now, I have accomplished so much, I have built a life with Blake and we have a strong, vibrant, passionate marriage. I just felt all of that in my heart and I think I was like a neon sign, glowing in the dark of the world.

I ordered a diet rum and coke, we shared an arugula and pear salad, I ordered the copper river salmon, served with these amazing mushrooms, pesto potatoes and asparagus. Blake had the halibut, encrusted with dungeness crab. Then I asked for a bowl of berries for dessert with just a touch of whipped cream, Blake had the creme brule sampler (vanilla, espresso, and Grand Marnier). It was divine. Then, the manager informed us, that since it took so long to bring us our meal (we were clueless, just enjoying one another and talking and such), that the whole meal would be on the house.....HOLY __________, people! This was a meal that would have cost well over $100, even with the coupon! What a blessing. The perfect anniversary gift for Blake, that's for sure.

After this delicious, free meal, we headed for a secret location. I had a suspicion that we might be staying the night somewhere, so I packed some clothes and necessary items. Where we ended up, however, was a total surprise! Blake's dad was out of town on business and his mom, my Yommy (your other mother) had offered to babysit. Well, little did I know that she offered much more than that! She gave us their house for the evening, fully decorated with roses, candles and bubble bath for the jacuzzi tub in their master suite! What a romantic adventure! It was so sweet to see the strawberries and chocolate, the iced whipping cream, the rubber ducky! It really was so great of her. We had a good time. It was dreamy. And it was quiet, except for Barry White and other crooners she had playing to us all night long on her iPod.....I felt like a new bride. Well, maybe without all the nerves.

Thank you, Yommy, and thank you, most of all, to my wonderful man. Blake, I love you and I am so amazed that our life is what it is. You make it unbelievable.

A triumph on my 13th Wedding Anniversary!

Me and my wonderful man, Blake on June 12, 1993...the day that changed my world forever!

Hello, beautiful people! I am feeling beautiful today! I tried on my wedding gown. And....and...it fits! I stood in the bathroom, looking in the mirror, and cried. Just plain cried and cried and cried! I wore this dress 13 years ago today and I have not worn it since! Many times, I have looked at my wedding photos and thought, "If I could just get back to that size...that would be so sweet." Well...here I am! Thirteen years and 5 babies and 50 lbs. later! This is the biggest thing to happen to me in these weight loss months. Thanks for all your support.

I am thinking about surprising Blake and wearing it to dinner tonight....If I can only figure out how to press it.

A toddler who has no concern for bacteria!

The Scene of the Crime (Grime)!

I did not approve of this "table" for Reese's snack. He just improvised, needing a spot to chow. I guess, in an adult world, where everything is built with our heights in mind, it only makes sense to a kid to create his own usable space. But I agree with all of you, G.R.O.S.S.....absolutely disgusting, but an excellent photo opportunity and an even more excellent blog entry, don't you think?

Let me cram this in real fast before anyone notices what I am doing and before the dog gets in on my action!

Hey, kid, I need to throw this trash away, you gotta move...

My Beautiful Mother is 60 years young!

Yesterday my wonderful Mom turned 60. She is the light of our lives and she is never happier than when her family is gathered together. We joined her and Dad at Palisades restaurant on Elliot Bay. This is Mom's most favorite place to celebrate. It was quite a treat for all of us. Blake had to work and sadly couldn't join us. I took a pretty cute date in his place....A much prettier one.
Rebecca had the priviledge of joining us at Palisades on Elliot Bay. She had a special gift to give to her Nanny.
Such love between these two. It is so sweet.
I love this shot. Look how happy they all are. Mom is surrounded by her family, her dream come true.

My sweet sister, Amy and her awesome husband, Scott. They are so in love, it is inspiring.

Me and my beautiful girl....She seemed to grow up in one night.
The whole gang. Happy 60th, Mom!
Amy...What a girl!

Dad and Amy. Two peas in a pod. So much alike, it is incredible!
